Susan D. Hicks, 62, of Hazlet passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 28th, 2018. Susan was born on February 13, 1956 in Red Bank, New Jersey. She grew up in Hazlet, New Jersey, and returned to Hazlet in 1990 with her husband and two children where she remained.

Susan was a devout Christian throughout her life and was a member of numerous churches in the Monmouth and Middle counties before becoming a member of Sayrewoods Bible Church. She fought a brave fight with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS) to her last breath. Susan is predeceased by her father, Adelbert Loihle.

She is survived by her loving mother, Julie Loihle, her beloved husband of 43 years, Robert (Jack) Hicks, her dear children, Michael R. Hicks and his wife Teresa of Middletown, New Jersey and Matthew C. Hicks, of Union Beach, New Jersey, her caring siblings, Stephen Loihle and his wife, Phyllis and David Loihle, and her cherished grandchildren, Liam and Landon Hicks. In respect of Susan’s wishes, she will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
