Susan Tripp Jones, 73, of Kinston passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandma and great grandma. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, James and Emily Tripp; brothers, James “Jay” Henry Tripp, Jr., Norman Wells Tripp and Dalton Beverly Tripp.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Douglas Jones; daughter, Rebecca Jones Garner and husband Paul of Kinston; sons, Timothy Douglas Jones and wife Sharon of FL and James Franklin Jones and wife Holly of Holly Springs; grandchildren, Stephen Garner, Cody Garner and wife Emily, Bryce Jones, Amanda Jones, Sarah Jones, Matthew Jones and Emily Jones; great grandson, Duncan Edward Grey Garner; sister, Barbara Tripp Johnson and husband David of Hugo; sister-in-law, Frances Tripp of Rocky Mount and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Garner Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jon Hoover officiating.

Burial will be held following the visitation at Westview Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Pradeep for all his compassion and care.
