Susan P. Kean, 82 , of Oil City, passed away Sunday April 22,. 2018 at 8:50 P.M. after an extended illness. Born Nov.

12, 1935 in Franklin, PA. , she was the daughter of the late Kieran Michael Evans and Charlotte “Lottie” Claire Walker Evans. Susan graduated from Oil City High School in 1953 and was employed as a telephone operator for GTE and worked in accounts receivable for Quaker State.

Sue enjoyed volunteering at the Oil City Library as a reading tutor after retiring. She also volunteered with the V.F.W in the ladies auxillary. Sue was very active for a number of years with the Oil City Oilers Red Hat Society and served as the “Queen Mom”, during her last 10 years with the group.

Susan was very social and really enjoyed meeting with friends and former telephone operators for breakfasts and luncheons with former classmates of Oil City High School class of 1953. She also enjoyed traveling with friends to various casinos and taking bus trips. Sue enjoyed special trips to Ireland, Kawai, Hawaii, California and Florida and cherished spending time with her family at their cottage in Tionesta.

Susan was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She married the love of her life Ronald Barry Kean on Nov. 9, 1957 and together they shared 43 years of marriage, before he passed on Sept.

14, 2001. They raised five children. Karen Louise Keth & her husband Daniel of Ogden, UT Randal Kean & his wife Kelly of Oil City Pamela K. Steiner of Seneca Ronald B. Kean II of Oil City Kelly Alcorn & her husband Dennis of Oil City She is also survived by 9 grandchildren Justin Rider and his friend Tonya Denny Stefanie Rider Emily Biddle & her husband Cody Erin Keimach & her husband Alex Ryne Kean, Riley Kean Raegan Kean Courtney Marie Alcorn Kaitlyn Nicole Alcorn She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren Leah Catherine Keimach James Elliott Keimach Kinsley Nicole Kean Among her survivors are special cousins, Shirley Morrow & Ann Wright and cherished friend Doris Lolley numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Susan had many wonderful caretakers and friends at the Caring Place, who she grew to love and who loved and supported her. Her family didn’t want to list individual names, but you know who you are and you made a difference during a very difficult time in her life. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert J. Evans and an infant sister, as well as her grandparents Elmer & Blanche (Armstrong ) Walker and James & Anna (Curran) Evans Friends will be received from 10:00A.M.-12 Noon on Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon in the funeral home with Rev. Byron Myers,Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Presiding. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
