Obituary for Susan Sykes Susan Claudia Siwula Sykes, age 69 died peacefully on April 16th, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 17th, 1948 at the Great Lakes Naval Base to Harry and Alice (Spellman) Allen. She graduated from North Chicago High School in 1966.

She married Lawrence M Siwula in 1968 and settled in Lindenhurst, IL where they raised their three daughters. In 1998 she married Richmond Lee Sykes and they enjoyed their second home up north in Wisconsin. She enjoyed movies, cross word puzzles, gambling, horses, and spending time with her family.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Alice, and her dear brother Bill. Susan is survived by her husband Lee, Sister LoAl (Don Cielenski), Brother Ron, her 3 daughters, Laura (Brendan) Hannigan, Andrea (Tim) Shales, A.J. (Pat) Cote, her beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Aidan, Riley, Frances, Travis, Trevor, her many nieces and nephews, and treasured friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Journey Care Foundation hospice and palliative care center for their loving support during this difficult time.

Visitation with viewing will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S Milwaukee Ave, Lake Villa, IL 60046. Prayers at the funeral home will begin at 9:30 am on Friday, April 20, 2018 with procession to Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 135 S Milwaukee Ave, Lake Villa, IL 60046 to follow. Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
