Obituary for Susie Maria J Burch Print Maria J. Burch (Susie) was born October 3, 1935 in Walsenburg, Colorado. She was the oldest daughter of Rufino and Rosenda Vigil. The family later moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming where Susie lived most of her young life.
She grew up helping raise the younger siblings in their large family of 10 children. She helped her mother with the younger ones which prepared her for motherhood. Growing up, Susie was close to her older sisters, Delores, Phyllis and Jenny.
She later developed that same closeness with her younger sisters Frances and Roberta. All of her brothers, Henry, Joseph, Kent and Steve adored their big sister. Susie had such a bubbly, fun and loving personality which won the love of so many people.
She later married Rudolf (Rudy) Burch, the man whose heart she stoled for a lifetime. He was unwavering in his deep love for her. After Rudy graduated from the University of Wyoming, they moved to California with their two little daughters.
They spent many years traveling to the places where Rudy’s engineering job took them. With their ever growing family, Susie loved being a mother. She had a knack for taking care of her 6 children.
A new baby in the house made her very happy. She effortlessly did the housekeeping, laundry, shopping while putting a delicious hot meal on the table every night. .
She also nursed her family through measles, chicken pox, mumps, scrapes and bruises. She personally took her five little girls, by herself, all the way to Germany to meet Rudy after he had gone ahead. The next big adventure was to Italy where she had to, yet, again tackle all the cultural differences.
To call her a Super Mom was not an exaggeration! Her strength, and compassionate nature made her a woman admired by so many. After the children grew up, she helped raise her Granddaughter, Jessie Marie.
She also babysat and bonded closely with several of her other grandchildren. In all she had thirteen grandchild, five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed her later years going to Vegas and the California Indian Casinos.
She made friends with many of the casino workers. Her compassionate nature made her a confidante to many of them. Susie was such a beautiful lady inside and out.
Her beautiful smile, kind words and generous ways made her a joy to be around. She had the most amazing fashion taste, always receiving compliments even from complete strangers. She also had the most extraordinary home decorating skills, mixing her European and local finds.
Susie was preceded in death by her granddaughter Nicole Horvath, brother Henry Carson and sister Phyllis Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Rudy, their six children, Dixie Burch (Carlos), Crystal Deacon (Michael), Lisa Burch, Roxanne Koller (Todd), Lori Danielak (Paul) and Rudolf Burch (Leticia), thirteen grandchildren four great-grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She also left behind her siblings Delores Coleman, Joseph Vigil, Jenny Medina, Kent Vigil, (Mary) Frances Fernandez (Joe), Roberta Cordova (Jose) and Steve Vigil (Lorraine) and many nieces, nephews.
She and Rudy have some very special friends who have became family as well. Susie left this world leaving behind a beautiful legacy of all her accomplishments, the most notable being the love that everyone ever fortunate to know her, received and felt for her.
