Sylvester “Boosie” Booth, 58 of Benton Harbor was born September 11th, 1960 to Andrew “Joe” and Ruby Lee Booth. Sylvester spent his entire life in Benton Harbor, MI. He grew up in the small community, which he helps to build and modify as a carpenter.

As a child, he along with his brothers both attended and sang at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He loved God and accepted him into his life. Sylvester was passionate about family, helping others, making everyone smile and his carpenter trade which he inherited from his father.

Then later passed on to his son Eric Cleve. Sylvester loved singing, dancing, family gatherings and contributing to the population. He was the life of the party.

He enjoyed being a running back for BHAS during his youth and played basketball as a team with his brothers through adulthood in Hull Park. Sylvester added laughter to the life of everyone that he knew. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

To know Sylvester was to love him and he was loved dearly! Sylvester Booth departed this life on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, in Benton Harbor, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruby Lee Booth; brothers Andrew “Eagle Bald” Booth, Jeffery “Alley Cat” Booth (best friend) and Len Miller; sisters Annielisa and Gwendolyn Booth; special aunt Eliza Bady; niece Priscilla Marelow; nephews Twins Darnell and Darrius Booth, Anthony Booth, Erkneco Lee; great-nephew Ivery Newborn; and special cousin Dewayne Bady.

Sylvester leaves to cherish his precious memories: his father Andrew “Joe” Booth; godmother Lois Bennett; his children Izzak Norman, Teamisk Word, Deidre (Alphonso) Fields, Sylvester Cleve Jr., Eric Cleve, Brandon Booth, Gwendolyn Cleve, Demarco Davis and Gina Alexander; his brothers Lonnie Booth, Ernest (Marion) Booth, Fredrick Booth, Tyrone Booth, Kenny (Venita) Booth, Darryle Miller and Gary Booth; sisters WarDean Booth-Wyatt, Wendy Norman, Licia Miller, Sonya Miller, Angel Miller, Sherronda Miller and Lillian Scott; special cousin Evangelist Betty Jackson; longtime special friend Marvess Cleve along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other family members and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Greater Community Christian Fellowship, 870 Nate Wells Sr Drive, Benton Harbor, MI 49022. Family hour is 10 am and the service begins at 11 am.

A repast will take place afterward in the Fellowship Hall of Greater Community Christian Fellowship.
