OBITUARY Sylvia (Zlatke Distel) Malcmacher July 9, 1926 – December 11, 2018 Sylvia Malcmacher, age 92, of Beachwood, Ohio passed away on December 11, 2018. Sylvia was born July 9, 1926 in Vilna, Poland. HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR.

Beloved wife of the late Izidor Malcmacher; devoted mother of Rachelle (Jerry Wolf) Korland and Shirley (Morry, deceased) Snyter; loving grandmother of Lee (Melissa) Korland, Robyn (David) Gelwasser, Rena (Brandon) Polien and David (Calisa) Snyter; cherished great-grandmother of Seth and Perry Gelwasser, Maya and Sarah Korland, Leah and Alex Polien and Jamie Webster. Sylvia emigrated to the United States in 1949. She was a long-time officer with Kol Israel Foundation and was a respected lecturer, talking about her life and experiences in the Holocaust.

Funeral services for Sylvia will be held at BERKOWITZ-KUMIN-BOOKATZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1985 S. Taylor Rd, Cleveland Hts, OH on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow Zion Memorial Park Cemetery, 5461 NORTHFIELD RD, BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio. The family will observe shiva FRIDAY FOLLOWING BURIAL, SATURDAY FROM 6-8:30 pm, SUNDAY FROM 1-4 AND 6-8 PM AND MONDAY FROM 1-4 PM at the residence of Lee and Melissa Korland, 155 Valencia Ct.
