Obituary for Syrie Petta Syrie Petta, of Leesburg Florida, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the age of 80. Syrie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and moved to Miami, Florida as a teenager. She has spent the last 24 years in Leesburg where she worked for the Lake County Public School System.

She was an active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Community, the Newcomers Club and she volunteered for many other local charities. Her hobby was taking cruises and traveling the world. Syrie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Phillip Petta, her three children Margaret, Jennifer and Matthew Petta and her brother AC Roda of Peachtree City, GA.
