Theodore (Ted) Hale age 74 passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. He was born on February 6, 1945 in Independence, MO to Vincent and Dorothy Hale. After he graduated from Kansas City East High School, he enlisted in the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam War from 1963-1967.

Ted was a graduate of Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO in 1971 where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He married Karen Jean Watts in 1969. He then began his 44 year career with State Farm Insurance in 1975.

He was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Dorothy Hale and one grandson Will Auch. He is survived by one sister, Vonnie Welsh and one brother, Larry Hale both of Houston, TX; his beloved wife of 50 years, Karen; four children Kevin J Hale (Angela LaFloe Hale) of Overland Park, KS, Karrie L Hale “Auch” (Dallas Auch) of Olathe, KS, Korey B Hale (Tara Marker Hale) of Spring Hill, KS and Kaleb V Hale (Katie Shay Hale) of Olathe, KS; 12 grandchildren Logan Auch, Natalie Auch, Gavin Auch, Emma Hale, Teddy Hale, Brody Hale, Grant Hale, Maggie Kate Auch, Mallory Hale, Hudson Hale, Walker Hale and Briggs Hale. Ted was an avid Sports Fan of Kansas Jayhawk Basketball, Royals Baseball and Chiefs Football.

He loved to travel, spend time on the lake and above everything else time with his family. He will be dearly missed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2019 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson County Chapel 11200 Metcalf Avenue Overland Park, KS, where the Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2019 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to curepsp.org.
