Naugatuck-Terry Glen Zehnder, beloved son of Attorney Donald and Mary Zehnder, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2019 with his loving family by his side. The stars aligned when Terry met and married his soul mate Dee. Together they welcomed their daughter Lily.

Dee encouraged Terry to be his best self, and with her creative guidance, he designed and built their home. They shared their home with friends and family, and their cat, Gooey, and chinchilla, Wasabi. Together they catered events combining her gifts for creating delicious cuisine with Terry along side his partner, the master chef.

Among Terry’s many qualities, he inherited his grandfather’s mechanical know-how and his way with tools. For over twenty years, Terry dedicated his expertise in construction and contracting to protect Connecticut residents from contractor fraud as a special investigator within the fraud division of the state of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. Recently Terry recalled some of his happiest childhood memories, including skiing as a teenager with his friend Guy and their moms, and racing his brother Donnie to swim in the hotel pools during the family’s six-week cross-country adventure.

When he started a family, he followed in his father’s tradition by putting up a 12-foot tall Christmas tree, which he decorated with sparkling lights with the help of his loving family. We will dearly miss his vibrant presence, but we pray for him to be reunited with his mom and dad, brother Zeke, and nephew Ryan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s name, to the Zehnder Family Scholarship P.O. Box 474 Naugatuck, CT 06770, or True Colors United, 311 West 43rd St 12th floor N.Y. N.Y. 10036 are gratefully appreciated.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Terry’s life with a funeral service on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/ Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
