Teresa A. Oakes, 58, Watsontown, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Evangelical Community Hospital. Born December 25, 1959 in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of Madeline (Wertz) Witmer of Watsontown and the late Eugene LeRoy Witmer, Sr. On November 8, 1985 she married Dennis D. Oakes and they have celebrated 32 years of marriage. She was a 1977 graduate of Warrior Run High School and owned and operated the former Oakes Group Daycare in Watsontown.

She had also previously worked at the former United Methodist Homes in Lewisburg. Currently she was employed by Muncy Bank and Trust Company in the Muncy office. She was a former member of the Watsontown United Methodist Church and enjoyed doing crafts.

Surviving besides her husband and mother are a son, Christopher D. Oakes; two daughters: Samantha M. Longenecker and Marissa E. Oakes; a sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Allen Wynn, all of Watsontown, a step-sister: Linda Renock; and step-brother: Mike Witmer. Preceding her in death besides her step-father was a sister, Terry Lee Printzenhoff. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc, PC, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Amelia Shivers Price, officiating.

Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to a charity of your choosing.
