Terrell Beane, Jr., 86 of Mt. Gilead, died Monday, May 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Mercy Chapel Church of God in Troy, officiated by Rev.

Dr. Travis Cook, Rev. Joe Beane, Rev. Johnny Cox and Rev.

Jerry Coe. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery. A visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Mercy Chapel Church of God and other times at the residence.

Born August 31, 1931 in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Terrell Beane, Sr., and Pearl Gallimore Beane. Terrell began working at the age of 14 at Troy Roller Mill and walked to work every day. He also worked at various Montgomery County Mill Industries, RL Kellam Company, Troy Lumber for 25 years, and retired after 12 years as an Animal Control Officer in Montgomery County.

After his retirement he worked part-time at Pinoka Community Dump Center on 109 South. He was a jokester and never met a stranger. His objective in life was to always make someone smile.

Terrell was a member of Mercy Chapel Church of God. He was a Superintendent, Deacon, Treasurer and Usher for many years at Troy Church of God. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Kern Beane of the home; three sons, Michael Beane and wife, Angie of Albemarle, Johnny Beane and wife, Gilda of Lawrence, KS and Derwin Beane and wife, Linda of Ellerbe; one daughter, Laura Morton and husband, Dennis of Troy; eight grandchildren, Jon, Melony, Michelle, Alex, Amy, Anna, Beth, and John; seven great grandchildren, Jacob, Emilee, Rachel, Ian, Eli, Soyan, and Gilvia; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Beane; and sisters, Peggy McKinnon, Mozelle Yarborough, and Evaline Jarrell. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly & The Uwharrie, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is serving the Beane family.
