OBITUARY Terry Wayne Lanham April 18, 1960 – January 16, 2019 Terry Wayne Lanham, 58, oldest son of Noble Wayne and Nancy Sue (Skidmore) Lanham passed away on Wednesday January 16, 2019 after a short illness. Terry was a talented carpenter and could build a house from the foundation to the roof. He worked for numerous contractors and was well respected by all who knew him.

Terry was a jack of all trades, from fixing an old car or truck to repairing a leak or painting a house. His fondest memories were of his escapades as a teenager when he and his brother Kerry earned the title of “The Duke Boys” while tormenting police and others with their antics in their old autos around Cross Lanes and Tyler Mountain. At the time of his passing he was employed as a maintenance man and caretaker at the National Guard Armory in St. Albans.

He amassed a multitude of friends throughout his life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family weeps in sorrow for the loss of a very dear friend and loving person. We ask your prayers for Terry and those who loved him.

Terry was a graduate of Poca High School class of 1978 and lived most of his life in and around his beloved Poca River. At his wishes he will be cremated and his ashes will be returned to the river he so loved, in a family service on his birthday in April. In addition to his parents, Terry is survived by his daughter Terra and special granddaughter Brooklyn of Cross Lanes, WV, daughter Halley of Poca WV, his sister Sherry (Eric) Claus of Buckhannon, and brother Kerry (Beth) Lanham of Charlotte, NC.

He is also survived by his nephews Travis Claus and David Wayne Edwards, and his niece Bryanna (Nate) Claus-Moccia. He is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles as well as a horde of cousins and friends. A memorial service for Terry will be held on Saturday January 19, 2019 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home 5233 Rocky Fork Rd, Cross Lanes, WV at 12:00pm.

Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of service. Everyone is invited to visit with the family and share stories about our loved one. Online condolences can be made by visiting www.
