Obituary for Theodore George “Ted” Alexander Sr. Williston – Theodore George “Ted” Alexander, Sr., 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. He was born on February 22, 1930 in Fairfield, Connecticut son of the late Gabriel and Helen Sandor. In 1948 Ted married the love of his life, Rosemarie Maier.

Always the entrepreneur, Ted established and ran Alexander’s Meat Market in Fairfield CT for many years. In Vermont he continued to be self employed, owning various businesses, including Alexander’s Country Store in Underhill for several years. He retired after ten years with General Mills.

Throughout his life Ted enjoyed traveling with his wife and being outdoors gardening, horseback riding, hunting and snowmobiling. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a proud member of the NRA, VAST and St. Thomas Church in Underhill.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Rosemarie (Maier) Alexander of Williston, his two sons Ted Alexander, Jr. and wife Diane of Underhill, Jeff Alexanderand wife Nancy of Underhill, his daughter Pamela Call and husband Jeff of Whitelaw, WI, seven grandchildren, Teri Ferreira and husband Steve, Ted Alexander, III and wife Elena, Emily Boomhower and husband Jack, Steve Alexander and Megan Brunovsky, Chuck Alexander and wife Josie, Katie Miller and husband Dave and Tom Call and wife Aimee, eleven great grandchildren, Ted, IV, Harmon, Kaylan, Aidan, Maxwell, Hailey, Isabelle, Dominic, Samantha, Abe and Veronica, a brother-in-law Albert Maier and wife Jean, sisters-in-law Anna Provolo and Shirley Gilebbi and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brothers Gabriel, William and Louis and his sister Helen Blichfeldt. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Es Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, Underhill with Reverend Christopher Micale officiating. Memorial contributions in Ted’s memory may be made to St. Thomas Church, P.O. Box 3, Underhill Center, VT 05490. Burial will be in the spring at the convenience of the family.
