Theresa Posthuma January 23, 1929 – March 04, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Theresa Posthuma, age 90 of Randolph, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Golden Years Assisted Living. Theresa was born on January 23, 1929, in Columbia County, WI, a daughter of Dewey and Martha (Alsum) Douma. On December 18, 1952, she was united in marriage to Carl Posthuma in East Friesland.

She was employed at Rockwell Manufacturing for many years. Family was the most important thing to Theresa; she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cross stitching, cards, puzzles, sewing and was an avid reader.

Theresa was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. Theresa is survived by her children, Debra (William) Bradley of Randolph and Philip (Mary) Posthuma of Randolph; four grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Smedema of Randolph, Jessica Bradley (Michael Girolami) of Wauwatosa, Tyler Paul of Coolidge, AZ and Preston Posthuma (fiancé, Kelsey Curkeet) of Columbus; four great-grandchildren, Stella, Samuel and Scarlett Smedema and Emerson Girolami; siblings, Dorothy Schaalma, Bessie (Lambert) DeJager, Andrew (Tessie) Douma and Harvey Douma; sisters-in-law, Shirley Douma, Rosemary Douma, Jeanette Tjepkma, Jane Posthuma, Betty Posthuma and Alice Posthuma, Sylvia (Clinton) Smith and Clairane (Ron) Buteyn; one brother-in-law, Melvin Hoffman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1995; her siblings, Auke (Evelyn) Douma, Gerrit (Marjorie) Douma, Alice Hoffman and Clarence Douma; siblings-in-law, John Schaalma, Jerry Tjepkma, Alvin Posthuma, Jim Posthuma, Clarence Posthuma, Agnes (Marvin) Schmidt, Jake (Betty) Posthuma, Eli (Winnie) Posthuma and Grace (Orlin) Fietz.

Visitation for Theresa will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Second Christian Reformed Church, 332 Tamarack Street, Randolph. A funeral service for Theresa will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at church with Pastor Keith Buist officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been directed to Second Christian Reformed Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Years Assisted Living and Hillside Hospice of Beaver Dam for their care and compassion for Theresa. Randolph Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.
