OBITUARY Therese Theriot Picard November 15, 1935 – January 3, 2019 NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Therese Theriot Picard, age 83, at 2:00 pm Monday, January 7, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Korey LaVergne officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 9:00 am on Monday until 1:30pm. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Picard passed away at 8:10 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at The Carpenter House.

Mrs. Therese was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she served as a Lector and was involved in the Widow’s Support Group. She enjoyed reading, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy P. Myers and husband Armand, Jr. of New Iberia and Julie P. Briley and husband Brian of Opelousas; four sons, Gene Picard and Cynthia Talley of New Iberia; Vernon Picard and wife Kate of Lafayette; Clay Picard and wife Vonnie of Rayne and Glen Picard of Gonzales; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild on the way.

She is also survived by her wonderful caregiver, Becky Frederick and loving member of our extended family, Eugene “Geno” LaBiche. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willday J. Picard; second husband, George Peltier, Sr.; parents, Clay and Julieanne Legnon Theriot; daughter, Ellen P. Hebert and her husband Kerry; daughter in law, Kimberly S. Picard; sister, Mary Letress Theriot and brother, Joseph “Chip” Theriot. Pallbearers will be Gene Picard, Vernon Picard, Clay Picard, Glen Picard, Armand Myers, Jr. and Brian Briley.
