She was born July 10, 1932 in Austin, Arkansas to the late Charles and Ova Howell McCollum. She enjoyed her career in the Arkansas banking industry and worked her way up the executive ladder to become Vice President and Secretary of the Board of Directors for a large Little Rock bank before retiring to her childhood area of Austin.

In addition to her parents, Theressa was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Joe Tackett of Austin; sons, Michael Tackett, Sr. and Mark Tackett of Little Rock; brother, Aubrey McCollum of Austin; sisters, Bonita Durnal of Austin and Arline Sloan Townsend of Fayetteville, Arkansas; nieces, Sandy Hicks and Macile King, both of Austin; nephews, Charles Sloan of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Lloyd Lynn Durnal of Austin. She is survived by son, Russell David Tackett and his wife, Rita of Cleveland, Tennessee; nieces, Phyllis Covington of Austin and Bettye Sloan of Fayetteville; nephews, Charles Aubrey McCollum and his wife, Karen of Cabot, Arkansas and Robert Sloan and his wife, Georgia of Galveston, Texas; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:15 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Austin. Theressa loved all animals, including dogs, cats, birds and wildlife and asked that memorials be directed to the charity of your choice to provide for their welfare. Honorary pallbearers include Russell Tackett, Charles Aubrey McCollum, Randy Hicks, Robert Sloan, Todd Lankford and Charles McCollum III.
