Theron Reece Caviness, 94, of Robbins, died Saturday, February 16, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Services, 2 PM, Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Beulah Baptist Church, Bennett. Officiating, Dr. Curtis Barbery, Dr. Neal Jackson, Rev.

Robert Kidd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Theron was a native of Moore County, retired from Millikan as a quality technician with 40 years of service and a farmer.

He was an accomplished woodworker and specialized in handmade oak wood baskets. Theron also loved bluegrass music where he was an award winning banjo and bass player. He was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, chairman of the deacon board, the building committee and also on a pulpit committee having selected two ministers.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Geneva Maness Caviness, Mary Chriscoe Caviness, parents, Yancey and Ada Williams Caviness, sister, Devonia Ritter, brothers, Leon Caviness, Winfred Caviness. Survivors: daughter, Evon Caviness, of Robbins, son, Elton T. Caviness, and wife, Cindy, of Linville Falls, NC, step-daughter, Tonia Davis, of Asheboro, step-sons, Jeff Potts, and wife, Linda of Seagrove, Sam Potts, of Atlantic Beach, Florida, grandchildren, Jason Caviness, Trisha Caviness-Bliss, Beth DeBerry, three great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. The family will only receive friends at the public visitation, 6 PM to 8 PM, Tuesday, Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.
