Thiep Van Nguyen May 08, 1925 – January 13, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on January 13, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born May 8, 1925 in Bao Dap, Nam Dinh, Vietnam. Thiep, his late wife Hoi (2006), and family immigrated to the United States in 1975 following the American Vietnam War and resettled in Chatsworth, California.

While learning English and obtaining an Accounting Certificate from LA Valley College, he worked as a janitor for Sears to provide for his family. He spent the next 20+ years working as an accountant for EZ Sportswear, Melrose & Kellwood Company. He is survived by his seven children, Anh Thu (Trung), Paul (Mong-Ha), Philip (Ann), Diem, Ly (Natalie), Dan (Jingjing) and Mary; seven grandchildren, Vythao (Daniel), Peter, Darren, Hannah, Carrie, Katie and Francis; two great grandchildren, Owen and Reagan; and many relatives and friends across the United States, Vietnam, the United Kingdom and Canada.

He will be missed by all who knew him for his value of hard work, generosity, honesty and integrity, a love for family, and a deep faith in and love for God, our Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph. A vigil will be held at St. John Eudes Catholic Church in Chatsworth, CA, on Friday, January 25, 2019, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. (with a Mass at 7:00 p.m.). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Eudes.

Interment and reception will follow at San Fernando Mission Catholic Cemetery.
