Obituary for Thomas B. Poto Thomas B. Poto, 62, of Alliance, died on Monday, February 27, 2017, at 8:45 p.m. at his home. He was born on December 6, 1954 in Alliance, where he lived all of his life. He was a 1972 graduate of Alliance High School.

Tom retired from the family business, Machine Shop Specialties, last year, where he worked with his son as a machinist. Tom was a life member of the NRA. In his past-time, he enjoyed target shooting, hiking, photography, gardening and cooking.

He also loved spending time with his family, four-wheeling and running his tractors. He is survived by his longtime companion, Diane Marinoff; his daughter, Cheryl Rakestraw; his son, David Poto; two step-sons, Chris Baum and Larry Baum; his grandchildren, Sophia, Logan, Michael and Alex; his mother, Jean (Burrows) Poto; and a brother, James C. Poto. Preceding him in death was his father, Richard Poto.

A memorial service will be held at Walton-Schrader Funeral Home on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, www. cancer.org . Arrangements are by the Walton-Schrader Funeral Home, 1131 W. State St., Alliance, Ohio 44601.
