Obituary for Thomas` C. Barrett Thomas C. “Tom” Barrett, age 80, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at his residence. Tom was born on March 4, 1938 the son of Fred and Mable (Daily) Barrett both deceased. Tom was a graduate of the Fowler High School class of 1956.

Tom proudly served in the US Army. On August 17, 1963, he married the love of his life, Marva Sondgerath, she survives. Tom worked as a Indiana Conservation Officer for 25 years, retiring in 1991.

Tom was a member of the Indiana Snowmobile Association and loved farming, hunting, fishing and bird watching. Tom is survived by his loving wife Marva, his daughter Kim (Ken) Prieboy of Monticello, a grandson Michael Skinner of Monticello and a sister Marsha Gardner of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Eva Maroz and 4 brothers, Robert “Grinny” Barrett, Kenneth “ Whity” Barrett, Jerry “Jaws” Barrett and Ronnie Barrett.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Jackson Funeral Chapel in Rensselaer from 1 – 3 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Jackson Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 3 PM. No Graveside services will follow.

Per Tom’s request cremation will be honored. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you write a memory of Tom, to be shared with them. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Thomas` C. Barrett please visit our Sympathy Store.
