Thomas Elwood Schelling, 76, of Great Plain Road passed away Thursday January 3, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. . He was born August 13, 1942 in Dayton, OH son to the late Elwood and Sarah (Tracey) Schelling.

On November 11 1967 he was married to Rita G.(Burge) Schelling. She survives him. Thomas honorably served his country in the US Army and US Navy.

He worked for many years at Electric Boat as a Ship Supervisor. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping and gardening, but most of all he loved his family. Besides his wife he is survived by his children Jeffrey T. Schelling and his wife Danna, Kimberly A. Ladd and her husband Fred and Rebecca L. Schelling, his eight grandchildren Jordan Buxton, Randi Canova, Cali Page, Danielle Shaw, Justin Fernandez, Tatyanna Serraro, Alexandra Ladd and Anissa Cowan and ten great grandchildren.

A calling hour will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Gagne Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT, with a memorial service following at 11:00AM.
