Thomas’ Obituary Thomas E. “Gene” Barrett, 69, of Iuka, MS, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at his residence, after a short illness. He was a retired laborer. He loved spending time with his family and his dog, Dorrie.

His favorite thing was playing the guitar. He was a giant of a man with a heart to match. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. David Kelley and Bro. Gary Cleveland.

Visitation is scheduled for 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharron Lynne; his daughter, Samantha J. Blair of Iuka; his grandsons, Justin Blair and AJ Shields, both of Iuka; his granddaughters, Natalie Pounders (Kyle) of Phil Campbell, AL and Gabryielle Brown Nix of Iuka; his great grandsons, Levi and Jayson Pounders, both of Phil Campbell, AL; his brother, Larry Barrett; his sister, Helen Barrett Gazaway; and a host of friends, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. and Dealy Pearl Barrett; his sister, Reba Barrett; his brothers, Clyde Barrett and Jim Barrett; and his daughter, Geanie Lynne Wilson. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. An online guestbook can be accessed at www.
