Thomas Everett Spencer, resident of Ruleville, Mississippi and husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Wilkins Spencer, departed this life Thursday morning, March 7, 2019 at Ruleville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services for Mr. Spencer will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Jeremy Arnold of Henderson, Tennessee, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. A visitation for Mr. Spencer will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel in Somerville.

Thomas was born February 11, 1943 in Fayette County, Tennessee, the son of the late Jasper Nathaniel Spencer and Maybelle Jackson Spencer. He received his education in Somerville and was married April 16, 1967 to the former Mary Elizabeth Wilkins who preceded him in death on January 12, 2000. He was employed as a carpet layer for many years and enjoyed fishing, dancing and special times with his family and friends.

Thomas will be remembered for being the “life of the party”. Mr. Spencer is survived by four sons, Thomas G. Spencer of Bartlett, TN, Johnny Wayne Spencer of Pittsburgh, PA, David G. Spencer (Lisa) of Phoenix, AZ, William E. Spencer of Memphis, TN; his sister, Margaret Witt of Byhalia, MS; his brother, Johnny Spencer (Mary) of Ripley, MS; and two grandchildren, Jaxon Spencer and Kasey Spencer. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Wendell Spencer, Terry Spencer, Billy Spencer, Ricky Davidson, Joshua Moore and Lee Moore.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
