Obituary for Thomas Kunes Thomas Gledhill Kunes, age 79, of Mentor, went to be with Jesus on December 20, 2018. He was born in Cleveland, on December 28, 1938, to the late Joseph and LaFerne Kunes. He earned his bachelor’s from CWRU in 1961.

He went on to have a long and prosperous career within sales and financing and finally retired from NMS. Thomas was a man of faith and love who enriched the lives of those who knew him with his gifts of storytelling and his sense of humor. He was a proud and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

His greatest joy and of pride was his family. Thomas is survived by his daughters: Laurel Kunes, Holly (Jeffrey) Core, Dawn Kunes-Sunagel, grandsons: Jeramey Sunagel, Sean (Angela Carey) Core, Zachary (Brynn) Core, Jacob, Gabriel, Benjamin Core, and great-grandsons Lyrik and Lincoln Core. He was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Barbara A. Kunes, brother Daniel Kunes and grandparents Walter and Bertha Gledhill.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 3 to 7pm at Mentor Presbyterian Church, 5885 Hopkins Road, Mentor, OH 44060. The Celebration of Life will be on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2pm also at the Church. Interment to follow at Mentor Cemetery.
