Obituary for Mr. Thomas Lee Furst Furst, Thomas L. (70) of Eden Prairie, MN peacefully passed away on September 18th 2018. This proud Vietnam Veteran (Army Artillery, 3rd (III) Corp, Radio Operator), lost his 9 year battle against Multiple Myeloma from exposure to Agent Orange during his 415 days in service. Tom is survived by his wife, Joan (Tikal); daughter, Nicole (Timothy) and son Benjamin (Michelle Iverson) and six grandchildren : Dylan (Danielle), Grace, Thomas, Chasity, Nicholas and Ella.

Siblings Marlys Bernier , Vernon Desing, Gerald Furst. He’s preceded in death by sister Vivian Montplaisir, parents Leslie & Mathilda Furst, baby brother Gene. Tom grew up in Barnesville, MN.

He was a master barber, bar owner, bartender “Tommy” for 25 years along the 494W corridor in Bloomington, and at StoneWings on the Lake. In later years he was employed by Bethany House Publishing and Sybaritic. Tom was an avid sportsman and enjoyed his last fishing trip with best friends at the end of August.

We want to specially thank our medical family at the MSP VA Hem-Onc department for their support and exceptional care: Dr. Patel, Connie, Gobin, Jackie, Katie, Rita, Amanda, Gail, Dan, Maren, Fran, Jeffrey, Melissa and John. A service for Tom will be held at PaxChristi, Eden Prairie at 11:00 on Monday October 1st. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
