Obituary for Thomas M Likens Thomas M. Likens of Plainfield, Illinois was born April 14th, 1950 to Albert and Mary Likens in Chicago, Illinois. Raised in Westchester and later settling in Bolingbrook, Tom was a tremendous High School Athlete earning him many pole vaulting records and accolades on the football field. He later became a very skilled Carpenter and was a Bolingbrook Police Reserve Officer for over 20 years retiring as a Commander.

He had a great love for the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox, flying, and could build anything. He fought the most courageous fight battling Cancer for over 13 years. Tom died peacefully at home in his chair surrounded by his family as he wished.

Tom was proceeded in death by his parents Albert and Mary Likens. Tom is survived by his loving children Scott (Sami) Likens , Daniel (Janille) Likens, Kristen (Darrel) Swienton , and Amy (James) Albright. Tom is also survived by his siblings Terry (Jean) Likens, Cathy (Donald) Heckman, Norine (Wally) Kosobucki, Mary Ann (Paul) Cottone, Bernadette (Mike) Kehr.

Tom had a special love and admiration for his grandchildren including Bryant Norton, Quinn and Rylan Swienton, Tyler and Alexis Albright, Dylan John Likens, and Dana Dang. Tom is also survived by Mary Jane Likens. In lieu of flowers or donations the family asks to please consider donating blood or plasma to Loyola Hospital to help others keep the good fight going.
