Thomas Michael Mahoney Thomas Michael Mahoney, 89, of Cascade, passed away December 15,2018 at Peace Hospice of natural causes. A memorial service is being planned for the summer of 2019 with inurnment and military honors being performed at Fort Harrison. Thomas was born on November 6, 1929 in Brooklyn NY to parents Michael Mahoney and Harriet Tobin.

He was a member of the US Airforce serving in the Korean War, He married the love of his life Sirley (Ward) Mahoney on April 30, 1955 in Browning, MT. This union would last 63 ½ wonderful years. They would live in Great Falls for 18 years before moving to the Hardy Creek area in 1974.

Thomas worked at E.B. Johnson Carpeting from 1957 – 1971 before opening his own business; owning and operating Mahoney’s Carpet Installation where he never officially retired from. Thomas was good at gardening and loved yard work, he drew joy from travel and visiting family in Newfoundland, CA. and Patrick Mahoney in Toronto/Ontario, CA.

He was a supporter of the Lower Southside Little League Baseball and the Cascade Courier Garden of the Week. Survivors are wife; Shirley Mahoney of Cascade, MT. , sons; Steve (Angela) Mahoney, of Great Falls, MT.

, Thomas (Katie) Mahoney Jr. of Henderson, NV. formerly East Helena, MT, Phillip Mahoney of Great Falls, MT. brothers; Michael Mahoney Colliers, Newfoundland, CA.

Patrick Mahoney Toronto, Ontario, CA. 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Those who have preceded Thomas in death include parents Michael and Harriet Mahoney; brothers Nicholas Mahone, Maurice Mahoney, sister; Mary Pemberton.

“Dad loved being in his garden, we’ll always remember him giving all who stopped by a personal tour of how blessed he was in having a green thumb. Dad made 1,000’s of acquaintances over the years; with even more stories to relate to, when given the opportunity to do so”. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Peace Hospice of Great Falls, MT.
