Thomas Polis, 55, of Newark, DE and formerly Cicero, IL, passed away on December 6, 2018 as a result of a tragic car accident the day before. He was born on January 24, 1963 at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL and attended St. Mary of Czestochowa elementary school and Nazareth Academy high school, He is survived by his wife Laura whom he married on October 7, 2017 as well as his mother Sandra (nee Sotka) Polis; siblings Robert (Bonnie) Polis, Mary Havener, Patricia (Chuck) Polakowski; children… Read More » Alexandra, Stephanie, Jaclyn and Cooper Polis, Philip and Michael Amodei, Kimberly Boals and Christina Fulton; eight grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his father Raymond Polis; grandparents Robert and Stella Polis and Joseph and Antoinette Sotka all of Cicero, Illinois; wife Roberta (nee Amodei) and brother in law William Havener.

Before relocating, Tom served as an auxillary police officer in Cicero and Berwyn and entertained many as Too Tall the Clown and Magician. He was most recently employed as a store manager for 14 years at Rite Aid. Tom was actively involved in Boy Scouts USA and was currently the leader of Troop 92 in Newark, DE.

A memorial visitation and celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Saturday, January 26th. from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Suburban Family Funeral Home 5940 W. 35th. St. (Corner of 35th.
