Thomas Richard “Tom” Nolan, 78 of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday December 26, 2018. He was the beloved husband for 51 years to Phyllis (Ficca) Nolan, whom he married on October 21, 1967. Dear father of Jason (Jamie) Nolan of Indian Land, SC and Loren (Shawn) Maletto of Arnold, PA; Grandfather of Nicholas, Christian, Isabella, and Gianna Nolan; also Julianna and Arianna Maletto.

He is also survived by his sister Anna Guzik and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Remo (Janice) Ficca; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary (Korzak) Nolan, and sisters Norma Reigner, Katherine Sweet, Loretta Olzewski and Mary Ellen Antonucci. Tom was a 1958 graduate of Springdale High School and worked in the purchasing department at Citizens General Hospital for 37 years.

He enjoyed relaxing in the sun on his deck and relaxing by the pool in Ocean City, Maryland with his family. He took great pride and joy in his two children and six grandchildren. He loved decorating for the holidays and loved spending time with family and friends.

He was proud to have served his Country in the U.S. Army. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on FRIDAY December 28, 2018 at the Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Inc., Robert P. Karish, Supvr. , 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068 (724) 335-6500.

Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mount St. Peter Church, New Kensington. Full military services by Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard. www.
