Obituary of Thomas Gentles Memorial visitation for Thomas Norman Gentles, age 82, of Saltillo, will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Thomas passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Carriage House Manor. He was born on May 7, 1936 in Harrisburg, PA, the son of Thomas McWalter and Helen Rogers Gentles.

He served in the United States Army. He married Vannoy Kirkpatrick Gentles on September 5, 1956 in Sulphur Springs, TX. She survives.

He later worked for the Kimberly Clark Company in Paris, TX for 15 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Thomas loved woodworking, baseball, and football.

In addition to his wife Vannoy, he is also survived by son, Mike Gentles of Pickton, daughters, Vannoy Fite and husband Jerry of Saltillo, Michele McDaniel and husband Jesse of Pickton, grandchildren, Amanda McDaniel of Sulphur Springs, Colleen Hoover and husband Heath of Saltillo, Brian McDaniel and wife Jennifer of Pickton, Kassie Robertson and husband Jake of ID, Lin Reynolds and husband Jerry of Arp, TX, Thomas William Howard and wife Angela of WV, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jacqueline Kay Gentles, great-granddaughter, Victoria Kalya Howard, brother, David Gentles, and sister, Colleen Osborne. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
