Tilman Lee Hammonds age 73, of Ft Towson, Oklahoma, passed away at his home Sunday, May 12, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. Tilman was born on October 27, 1945 in Idabel, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Robertson Hammonds and Dovie B. (Sauls) Hammonds. Tilman married Lois Cass on January 20, 1989.

Tilman was employed with Brown & Root for numerous years as lead man until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working his cows, arrowhead hunting and was an avid cock fighter. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He never met a stranger always had a smile and welcomed everyone into his home with a handshake and a cup of coffee. Tilman was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, Dovie and a son, Tilman Eugene Hammonds; and a great grandchild. Tilman leaves to cherish his memory his wife of thirty years, Lois Hammonds; children, Shelly Harkey and husband B.J. of Lawton, Oklahoma, Amy McDonald and husband Jake of Idabel, Oklahoma, Roger Hammonds and wife Angie of Idabel, Oklahoma, Amiee Gonzales of Eastland, Texas; brothers, Richard, William, and Robert Hammonds all of Idabel, Oklahoma, and Mack Hammonds of Sherman, Texas; sisters, Katherine Gray and Earlene Gills of Idabel, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, Anna, and Cody Hammonds, Skyler Gammon, Tanner, Riley, Keefe Harkey, Cameron, Cannon, and Conner Hammonds, Kalie LeForce, Kenzi, Kyson, Cameron McDonald, Alex, Chris, Elijah, and A.J. Gonzales and several great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by the mother of his children, Glenda Fay Hammonds. A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May16, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. in the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain David Kautt officiating.

Interment will follow at the Redland Cemetery.
