OBITUARY Tom Quick July 22, 1938 – January 16, 2019 Play Tribute Movie Thomas (Tom) Raymond Quick, age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at home, with family by his side. Tom was born in Walden, NY, July 22, 1938, and is the son of the Late Harry D. Quick, of Walden, NY, and Hilda Quick of Port St. Lucie, Fl. Tom raised his family in Vernon, CT, moving to Port Orange, FL, in October 1996.

He was a Systems Analyst in Hartford, CT, for thirty-five years. In retirement, he was a member of the Volunteer in Police with the Port Orange Police Department for eighteen years and was president of the Harbor Oaks Homeowners Association while residing in the Port Orange area. Tom was a renaissance man being an avid reader, a superb handyman, a talented artist, and an Information Technology Specialist.

Tom’s hobbies included enjoying the sun, traveling, having traveled to over 50 countries, and tracing his ancestral lineage. Tom was a veteran having served in the United States Navy, stationed in Greenland, and received a letter of commendation for maintaining the highest scholastic average while in recruit training at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, IL. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Solange, and his loving children Jason Quick and his wife Michele of LA, and Angela Quick of CT.

He also leaves his grandsons, Nathan and Julian Maleski and Jack Quick. Family and friends, and others whose lives have been touched by Tom are invited to the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, located at 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd. , Port Orange, FL, at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019, to celebrate Tom’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tom made be made to the American Cancer Society.
