Mr. Tommie Lee Fountain was born on April 14, 1935 in Marked Tree Arkansas to the late Johnnie Mae Gorden and Tommy Fountain. Tommie married the love of his life, the late Lessie Mae Fountain, on December 11, 1954. To this union, 13 children were born.

Tommie possessed a strong work ethic and worked in various roles at Aldi’s, Ventures, SMTS, and also as Howardville Alderman. He received the “Outstanding Older Worker” award from the Missouri Dept. of Health & Senior Services to honor his work ethic.

Tommie accepted Christ in his early 30s and he attributed his desire for salvation to his late wife, Lessie Fountain. He humbly and devoutly served God and it was evident to all who knew him. Tommie attended and graduated from Moody Bible Institute after six years of study.

He attended Full Gospel Church for decades and ministered in jails and nursing homes, preached at missions, fed the hungry, and helped raise several grandchildren. Tommie preached the importance of love and togetherness to everyone around him. Tommie Fountain departed this life peacefully on December 13, 2018 at the age of 83.

Tommie is preceded in death by his: wife of 49 years, Lessie Fountain; parents, Johnnie Mae and Tommy Fountain; two sons, Isaac Fountain and Tommie Fountain, Jr.; two brothers, Willie and Herman Fountain; and two sisters; Leola Belcher and Etter Mae Cotton. Tommie leaves to cherish his fond memories: wife, Nancy Fountain; four daughters, Elaine Miller (Earl) of Chicago, IL, Rhonda Hopkins of Howardville, MO, Tasha Evans of Chicago, IL, Kyra Young (Shawn) of Lilbourn, MO; seven sons, Isaiah Fountain of Jonesboro, AR, Traunza Fountain (Janice) of New Madrid, MO, Phillip Fountain (Gina) of Hayward, MO, Michael Fountain (Temple) of Camden, TN, Gabriel Fountain (Denise) of Howardville, MO, Jorel Fountain (Latisha) of Navarre, FL, Jytonne Fountain of Howardville, MO; 32 grandchildren, Nykeva, Banquetta, Faith, Ta’janette, April, Rhonda II, Teena, St. Paul, Tommie, Ronald, Traunza Jr., Jasmine, Joel, Queenesther, Dontay, Michael Jr., Darian, Tyris, Marquese, Gabrielle, Gabriel II, Gabriel III, Kylen, Tyler, Jazsequa, Jxequoia, Jorel Jr., Charlotte, Kal-El, Shaniah, Shia, and Shawn; 18 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Fountain of Yuba City, Viola Hester of Bakersfield, CA, and Clara McIntosh of Yuba City, CA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
