Mr. Tommy Lee Smith Sr. was born October 29, 1947, in Cleveland County, North Carolina to the late James and Mattie Lee Smith. He transitioned to a Greater Glory on February 17, 2019. Tommy retired from International Paper Company where he worked as a truck driver.

He played softball for Lincoln Heights Astros. Tommy enjoyed landscaping, playing cards, watching old Western movies, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Tommy is preceded in death by several siblings and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 48 years; Spring, son Tommy Jr. (Tasha), daughter Shannon (Demond) grandchildren: Deanna, Louis, and Payden all of Charlotte, NC. Tommy also leaves behind brothers Larry (Ann), Bobby (Carrie) and Terrell of Gastonia, NC, and a host of family and friends.
