Toni (Tea) Antoinette Samuel-Bullock was born March 17, 1963 in Nash County, North Carolina to Daisy Applewhite and the late Benjamin Cameron, who preceded her in death. Toni was also preceded in death by her husband Tony Bullock, her adopted parents Alfred and Madeline Samuel and her brother Dwight Cameron. Toni went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2018.

She was raised in Mt. Vernon, New York. She received her high school diploma from St. Gabriel High School.

Toni later received her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting from LaSell Jr. College in Massachusetts. In 1993 she married Kennis Norris and relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana. From this union one daughter was born.

When she relocated to Fort Wayne, Toni united with Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Sylvester Hunter. Toni later united with Come As You Are Community Church under the leadership of Rev.

Anthony Payton. Toni was a Sunday School teacher in the children’s church program at Union Baptist and later continued her teachings at Come As You Are Community Church. Toni was employed at General Motors for 23 years.

She was a member of UAW Local 2209. Toni served as past Chairperson and secretary of the Civil and Human Rights Committee. Toni was a member of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) and a member of the Scholarship Committee on the local and International Level and Co-Chair of the Women’s Committee on the local Committee.

Toni was very passionate about her music, specifically Jazz and R&B. She also loved art, her plants, but most of all… “her babies”, the children that came to know and love her. In 2015 she became a legal foster parent, so that she could continue caring for children in need of a loving home.

Toni leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, T’Angela Norris of Fort Wayne, IN , her mother, Daisy Applewhite of Rocky Mount NC; a special daughter, Tiffany Price, two sisters, Xan Bullock and Carolyn McDonald; one brother, Myron (Linda) Jacobs. Special sisters Denise Karim Hyatt, and Sarita Brooks; three God-children Breyale Dowdell, Noel Hairston and Skylar Hyatt, a host of family and friends.
