Hartsville – Mr. W.F. “Tub” Beasley, 85, went to be with The Lord on Monday afternoon, May 13th, 2019, at home surrounded by his family. The service celebrating a life well lived will be held at 11:00 on Thursday morning, May 16th, 2019, in Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Williams, Reverend Buddy Amerson, and Honorary Reverend Homer Hinson officiating. Burial will follow in Beasley Cemetery with military honors provided by Fort Jackson.

The family will be receiving friends from 5-7 on Wednesday evening, May 15th, 2019, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. A native and life-long resident of Hartsville, Tub was a son of the late Jessie & Beulah Gainey Beasley. He served as a Hartsville Police Officer, a Rural Mail Carrier for the Hartsville Post Office and was a floor finisher.

Tub was in the Army Airborne from 1954 until 1961. He was also a member of the Hartsville Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Tub was a lover of people and enjoyed cooking chicken bogs for charities.

He truly loved his Lord. He also loved playing with “The Boys Club” and he loved his family with all his heart. His motto was, “Never Say No When You Can Help Someone”.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Short Beasley of the home; son, Ted Beasley of Hartsville and daughters, Janice (Steve) King of Mullins and Lisa (Victor) Farmer of Bishopville; grandchildren: Eric Beasley, Paul Beasley, Jason Turner, Elana McLeod, and Kristen Farmer; great-grandchildren: Aiden Turner, Tyler Beasley, Connor Beasley, and Kendal Mangum. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church at 1635 Cedar Creek Road, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550 or the Saleeby Center at 714 Lewellen Avenue, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550.
