Obituary for Tyll Frieder von Oettingen Sass Tyll passed away on October 8, 2018 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born in Germany, the son of Friederich-Karl Sass and Anneliese von Oettingen-Sass, who preceded him in death. At the age of 6, his mother and sister immigrated to Cincinnati, OH where AvO established a well known school of Ballet.

Tyll was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army as a translator and returned to America where he became a PAD instructor. He taught scuba driving in Stella Maris, Bahamas and then traveled to Honduras where he opened Tyll’s Dive. Tyll is survived by his wife Alva, his son Cristian of La Ceiba, Honduras and his sister Cornelia (Conni) Berns.

A Memorial Service will be held at Dayton National Cemetery on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Seaside Seabird Sanctuary 18328 Gulf Blvd. , Indian Shores, FL 33785.
