Valerie Anne Cruz, age 70, of Old Bridge passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. She was daughter to the late Sabino and Elena Tedeschi. Valerie attended New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, NY before working for Con Edison in Manhattan, NY.

She worked in the Old Bridge Public School system and was so proud of “her kids” as she watched them grow. Valerie grew up in Brooklyn, NY and later moved to Old Bridge, NJ with her husband of 47 years Carlos. Having planted roots in Old Bridge, Valerie and Carlos went on to have four beautiful children whom they cared and loved for.

We lost the Matriarch of our family. She had a tremendous presence and an even bigger heart. There was nothing she loved more than her family and enjoyed boasting about her beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Her home was always filled with her “bonus” children who simply called her “mom” whom she loved and supported in every way just as much as her she did her own kids. Valerie was the back bone her family and will be missed more than words can describe. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her family and those she loved.

Nothing will be able to fill the void she left, but we will find peace in knowing that she is in the arms of her adoring husband and loving parents again. Valerie is survived by her daughter Michele and her husband Chris , her sons Brandon and his wife Rebecca, Jonathan and his wife Lauren and Sam; her grandchildren Harleigh, Dominic , Vincent, Isabel, Neil, Connor and Leia Harper and her great grandchildren Sofia and Anthony and her Sister Claudia and her husband Michael and their daughter MaryElena.
