OBITUARY Van Myron Jordan March 7, 1939 – October 2, 2018 Van Myron Jordan, 79, of Hanahan, South Carolina, succumbed to Congestive Heart Failure in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on October 2, 2018 at 7:15 pm. He was born March 7, 1939 to Harold Hugh Jordan and Annie Laurie Lynch Jordan in Olanta, Florence Country, South Carolina. Myron is survived by his wife Erma Hatchell Jordan of 57 years, daughters Pamela Jordan Farley (Rick) of Charleston and Shauna Jordan Bailey (Kris) of Hanahan; grandchildren Richard (Trey) W. Farley, III, Kayla Jordan Means, Jordan Lynn Farley, McKenna Ann Bailey and Alexandria Jean Bailey; great grandchildren James Wallace Jordan Means and Richard Elijah January Means, Jr. of Oklahoma; sisters Jean Jordan Coker of Florence, Laurita Jordan Smith of Turbeville and Diane Jordan Smith of Rock Hill; his sister-in-law Martie Jones Hatchell of Columbia, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Averitt K. Jordan and Jimmy Mack Jordan, his in-laws Henry Leon Hatchell, Sr. and Sarah Crosby Hatchell, and his brother-in-law Henry L. Hatchell, Jr. Myron was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to everyone he had the pleasure of meeting. He was in the Army reserves from 1958 to 1964 and was called to duty for a year in 1961 during the Berlin Crisis. Myron retired from Winn Dixie as a Market Manager after over 30 years of service.

After retiring, he liked to tinker in his garage repairing lawnmowers and other equipment. Myron loved to socialize and make people laugh. He spent his free time with his family, visiting his buddies and neighbors, visiting garage sales, and playing poker with his buddies weekly.

Myron was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects and whatever else people needed of him. Myron was a member of Portside Baptist Church in North Charleston. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, October 5 at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, N. Charleston, 29406.

Funeral services for Myron will also be at Carolina Memorial Park on Saturday, October 6 at 11 am with the burial service following. Memorial donations may be made to Portside Baptist Church, 1179 Remount Road, N. Charleston, SC 29406.
