Brown Rogers returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 10, 2019. She passed away at the Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona surrounded by her loving family. Velda was born on a Saturday, April 12, 1930, in McNary, Arizona to Jess P. and Blanch J. Brown.

Velda worked for Contel Telephone of the West as a switchboard operator and she loved her job. She retired at the telephone company in 1989. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings and did them to the best of her ability.

She also loved her community and the people of Holbrook. She loved her family and everyone with whom she came in contact. She married her eternal companion on November 7, 1959, and they have been married for 59 years.

Velda is survived by: her husband Francis Rogers; 2 Daughters: Kathi Sue (Bill) LeBaron, Rebecca K.(Mark) Hampton; 1 son, Doyle A. (Monique) Rogers; 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren with 2 more on the way! The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Holbrook Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1127 Helen Avenue in Holbrook where the visitation will begin one hour prior. The concluding service and interment will take place later in the day, beginning at 3:00 P.M. at The R.V. “Mike” Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
