Venita Ann Lee passed away April 25, 2018 while visiting her daughter in Kansas City, MO. Services will be held at 2 pm on May 5, 2018 at Revival Center COGIC. Interment to follow at the Iowa Veterans Center next week.

Venita was born in Sedalia, Mo on June 14, 1949 to Scott Jenkins, Sr and Bertha Cozetta (Webb) Jenkins. She spent her early years in Missouri but graduated from Des Moines Tech High School. After graduation she attained a Bachelors degree in Sociology from Drake University.

Venita was an “Encourager”. She saw the good in people and encouraged them further. She saw the bad in people and encouraged it out of them.

She was always willing to offer a good word or a prayer. She was a her daughter Cozetta’s biggest encourager and fan. Venita was preceded in death by her husband Donald; parents, Scott and Bertha Jenkins; her daughter, JaVanna Lee; her brothers, Carl Jenkins, Sr., Scott Jenkins, Jrand Darryl Jenkins; her nephews Carl Jenkins, Jr and Kevin Hall.

Left to cherish Venita’s memory are her daughter, Cozetta Jenkins of Kansas City, MO; her sisters Carol Williams and Antionette (Charles, Jr) Battle of Des Moines, IA, Dr. Mozella (Armand, Jr) Dyer of Kansas City KS, Atty. Brenda (Suff. Bishop Wardell, Jr) Watkins of Olathe , KS and Charlotte Jackson of Milwaukee, WI along with her extended family and many church members.
