Trumpets sounded, Angels sang, and the Lord smiled as a faithful servant entered Heaven’s gates on June 11, 2018. At the reunion were her husband (Norman d. 2003), her dad (Roscoe d. 1975), her mom (Roxie d. 1945), her brother (Dwight d. 2017), and her grandson (Matthew d. 2017) along with countless friends and family members from years gone by. Venora was born in the mountains of East Tennessee on February 26, 1926.

She lived a simple but happy life based on one basic premise which was “Love the Lord with all your heart”. In years past, she had worked in Tennessee during WW2 at the war plants, clothing mills in North Carolina, and at Yoder Brothers, Manor Care, and Coventry Schools in Ohio. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years at the Akron Baptist Temple and was active in the nursing home ministry until she was 88.

She made a Bible for each family member with notes, memos, and thoughts that she had while reading passages every day. She is survived by her son Charlie (Chuck) and his wife Rose of Apple Creek, Ohio; a granddaughter, Traci Sheipline of Burbank, Ohio and her husband Danny; a great-granddaughter, Megan Sheipline of Burbank, Ohio along with several cousins and nieces. While we will sorely miss our times together, we rejoice in knowing that we will be together again and that then it will be forever.

Thanks for all the Love, Prayers, and Precious Memories. A funeral service will be held at Bacher Funeral Home 3326 Manchester Rd. Akron on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one-hour prior, Rev.
