Verda Aleen Calvert, 84, DuBois, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at her home. Born January 1, 1935, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Minnie (Zortman) Reasinger. On December 12, 1953, she married John “Jack” Calvert in DuBois.

He survives. Aleen graduated from Sandy High School in 1953. She was once employed by Quaker Market and served as the office manager of Brown’s Boot Shops.

Aleen is survived by a daughter, Vicki (Gary) Peterson, DuBois; three grandchildren, Ashley (Adam) Carr, Erika (Matt) Checchio, and Garret Peterson; four great-grandchildren, Axton and Zoren Carr and Maddox and Carson Checchio, and a sister, Leona Rairie, Corry, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Brad Calvert, and her siblings, Marguerite Meenan, Caroline Gregory, Donald Reasinger, Marian Dillman, Jean Jordan, and Betty Reasinger. Friends and family will be received Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 1-4 p.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Rev.

Corben Russell officiating. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
