Obituary for Verle Adele Stromberg Needham Verle Adele Stromberg Needham (87) released her earthly bonds and traveled home on December 26, 2018 to join her parents and her sisters; Ruth and Marion. Verle was the youngest of four children and was born in Ogden, UT to Arvid Samuel and Ada Verl Pippin Stromberg. Verle was educated in Ogden City schools and graduated from Ogden High School in 1949.

She married Ray Joseph Needham on October 10, 1952. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Verle was a dedicated member of the LDS church, serving as both Stake and Ward Relief Society President and many other callings.

Service was an important part of her life and along with her husband Ray, she served an LDS Church service mission in central Ogden, helping to strengthen and support ward members. Verle was a shining example of both compassion, dedication and strength to all those that knew her. Motherhood was a vital part of Verle’s life; she and Ray raised 3 children; Bruce, Nancy, and Kathi.

Verle has also been an integral part of her 11 grandchildren’s and 3 great-grandchildren’s lives. Additionally, her dedication to children extended outside of her family in her work as a teacher’s aide at Canyon View Elementary, where she helped educate and care for children with both mental and physical disabilities. Verle is survived by her husband: Ray, brother Wayne (Carolyn) Stromberg; children: Bruce (Angela) Needham, Nancy (Larry) Sorensen, Kathi (John) Dilworth; grandchildren: Jared Sorensen, Brin (Joseph) LaFleur, Adam Sorensen, Megan Sorensen, Klaire Dilworth, Paxton Dilworth, Joseph Needham, Jake Needham, Andrew Needham, Thomas Needham and Caroline Needham; three great-grandchildren: Luthien, Perrin and Roe LaFleur and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A celebration of her life will be held at the South Ogden LDS 8th Ward (720 Nancy Drive, South Ogden) on Saturday, December 29, 2018 with visiting from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and services from 11:00 to 12:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery following the services.
