Vernon E. Krueger, age 90 of Appleton, passed away December 5, 2018. He was born March 1, 1928. He met Betty in 1942 and they were married in February 1949 at Memorial Presbyterian Church.

After graduating high school, he worked at many jobs but made a career as a Felt Maker for Appleton Mills. He retired from there in 1990 and went on to work at Community First C.U. Vernon enjoyed deer hunting season and traveling throughout the U.S. Vernon is survived by his daughter; Connie (Craig) Volkman, granddaughter Molly (Keith), and one son; Daniel Krueger. Vernon is further survived by one sister and 3 brothers, nephews, nieces, their families and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters, 5 brothers, and many other family members. A Memorial Service for Vernon will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday December 12, 2018 at Valley Funeral Home 2211 N. Richmond St. Appleton with Rev. Dr. Michael Goodwin officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family is grateful for the outstanding nursing staff at Bethel Home’s #1 West Wing and to the other staff that provided excellent care that Vernon received.

We also say Thank-you to the Affinity Hospice staff that provided added comfort during his last 6 ½ weeks.
