Vernon V. Vollmer Sr. April 29, 1932 – January 30, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Vernon Vollmer Sr. went to be with the Lord January 30, 2019, at the age of 86. He was born in San Antonio on April 29, 1932. Vernon was preceded in death by his brother, Gayle “Bubba” Vollmer; parents, Clarence Vollmer and Ruby Wood Mangold.

Vernon owned Vollmer Realty and was past president of the Bexar County Real Estate Association. Previously, he was a circulation manager for the San Antonio Light newspaper. Vernon was an avid sports fan and loved to dance.

He met the love of his life, Jane Mitchell, at a dance. Jane, his wife of 65 years, survives him along with their six children, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The children are Vernon Jr., Janette Agnew (husband Jim), Joanne Mirelez, Jeanene Campsey (husband Art), Jeff (wife Cynthia), and Jim (wife Teri).

He is also survived by an aunt, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Choirs, Global Health Reach (GHRUS.org) or a charity of your choice. Services will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Monday, Feb.

4th, and Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb 5th, followed by a graveside service at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
