Obituary for VICTOR CERVANTES Miami — Victor A Cervantes, a long-time resident of the Miami area, died Monday the 10th of December at Mercy Hospital/Sister Emmanuel Hospital. Born in 1928 in Callao, Lima Province , Peru. , Victor was a member of the Peruvian naval service, after discharge he became a certified accountant.

He immigrated to the United States in the early 1960s and trained to be an auto body shop technician. The family moved to Puerto Rico in the 1970s where he partnered to establish an auto body shop in Arecibo. He suffered a serious eye injury and the family returned to Miami, but through much effort he continued to provide for his family.

In Miami, he set up an auto body shop on NW 7th Avenue and 20th street. After retiring, he trained and received a security guard license. Six years later he finally retired for good and enjoyed the company of his pet dog Sammy and his wife Victoria until her death in 2016.

Victor, loved good food and socializing, enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching basketball. Chatting with friends, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. He is survived by his daughters, Rosa Cervantes and Victoria Cervantes.
