Victor E. Hoggins March 04, 1932 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Victor “Vic” Eugene Hoggins was born March 4, 1932, in Carthage, Missouri to George and Dorothy (Mitchell) Hoggins, oldest of three children and passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Southlake Village Care Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 86. As a young boy, Victor and his family lived in Carthage and Bolivar, MO, Wahoo and Neligh, NE where he became a 1950 graduate of Neligh High School. He furthered his education by attending Nebraska Wesleyan University, finishing his schooling in Los Angeles where he graduated from mortuary science school in 1954.
He returned to Nebraska where he received his funeral director license and served the communities of Omaha, Neligh, Superior and Milford. He was united in marriage to Nancy Anderson in Council Bluffs on August 6, 1956 and to this union seven children, George, Kendall, Gretchen, Victor, Tracy, Caroline and Lorna were born. Victor was very proud of his children and they were his greatest blessing.
Vic never met a stranger and he always made a lasting impression. He was an avid sportsman, often playing golf and enjoyed travel and always followed his children and grandchildren’s activities. Survivors include his children and spouses, George Hoggins, Beaumont, TX, Kendall and Jeanne Hoggins, Milford, Gretchen Ryan, Romana, CA, Victor and Lisa Hoggins, Lincoln, Tracy and John Horn, also of Lincoln, Caroline and Dave Dahle, Milford, Lorna and Eric Millikan, also of Milford, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Doris Dicknite, Seattle, WA and Phyllis Ames, Omaha, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Arlie Dicknite and Dale Ames and three infant great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Beth-El Community Church, Milford, with Pastor Bob Troyer officiating. Interment will be in Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford.
Memorials have been established and may be directed in care of the family. Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services, Milford, is entrusted with the care and arrangements. The family will have a private graveside at Blue Mound Cemetery but will return shortly to the fellowship hall to join them.
