Vida Jean Rogers October 07, 1924 – January 17, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Vida Jean Rogers, age 94, was born October 7, 1924 and died January 17, 2019 at Raintree Manor following a brief illness. A homemaker, a member of East End Church of Christ and a former member of Rock Island Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Ethel Womack Gillentine. She was married on November 30, 1944 to William Abe “W.A.” Rogers who preceded her in death on July 19, 1988.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brother, J.C. Gillentine. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Jeanette Rogers of Rock Island, TN; daughter, Wilma Jean Young of McMinnville; three grandchildren and spouses, Regina and Jeff Matheney, Dale Rogers, and Sam and Felicia Young; six great-grandchildren, Ben Matheney and wife Kendra, Neil Matheney, Abe and Kendal Rogers, and Samantha and Maddie Young; sister-in-law, Donna Gillentine of Walling, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 in High’s Chapel with Kevin Key and Mike Steakley officiating.

Burial will follow in Old Bybee Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East End Church of Christ Bible Call or Meals on Wheels.
